The integrity of Hong Kong's capital markets and investor confidence hinge on the pivotal role played by public interest entity (PIE) auditors as gatekeepers of financial reporting for the Hong Kong’s listed companies. Amidst a complex and evolving landscape, the role and responsibilities of these PIE auditors have become increasingly critical.

In this seminar, the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC) will provide a comprehensive overview of the composition and dynamics of the PIE audit market in Hong Kong, including the key factors shaping audit quality. 

The seminar will also share insights gathered from roundtable discussions with PIE auditors and other stakeholders (investors and audit committee members). These insights will cover the threats to audit quality, as well as perspectives on climate-integrated financial reporting and audits in Hong Kong.

Further, the AFRC will provide actionable recommendations to auditors to help enhance financial reporting and audit quality.
