Hong Kong is a leading destination for business and investment, renowned for the ease of doing business with the underpinning of a strong tradition of rule of law.  Its open and efficient company governance regime, simple taxation system and world-class professional services have made it an international hub for companies to set up headquarters and regional offices to expand their reach to Hong Kong and the Mainland, as well as the vibrant economies in the Asian region and beyond.

To strengthen our position as a global business and financial hub, the Companies (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 2025 comes into operation on 23 May 2025 to introduce an inward company re-domiciliation regime (“the Regime”) which allows companies domiciled elsewhere to transfer their domicile to Hong Kong while maintaining their legal identity as a body corporate and ensuring business continuity.

SCAA has specially invited representatives from the Companies Registry and the Inland Revenue Department to introduce the Regime to our members.
