Cyberattack incidents in Hong Kong have been skyrocketing in recent years, with companies and residents losing more than HK$2 billion in the first nine months of 2018. According to a survey conducted by Chubb Insurance, more than 75% of Hong Kong SMEs fell victim to cyberattacks. Despite this, cyber awareness still remains low, and the importance of network protection is still overlooked. A third of the SMEs reviewed their security protection but took no action to prevent another attack. Nearly 30% of cyber incidents experienced by SMEs took the form of data loss through system malfunctions and technical faults, while 24% were caused by human error. 

So what can businesses do to prevent from being attacked and what governmental schemes can apply for to get subsidies and funding?
