About the Webinar:

Charities formation is a hot business amongst the audit profession in these recent years. Many people see the advantages and benefits of forming and running a charity. Yet, many charity formation applications intended to be under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance have been refused or delayed by the Inland Revenue Department. In this seminar, the speakers will discuss, from the perspectives of statutory audit, internal audit and the compliance and relevant matters of charities.

About the Speakers:

Mr. Webster Ng Kam-wah, JP

Being the proprietor and founder of Webster Ng & Co., Managing Director of AC CPA Limited and Senior Partner of Uniontax (Shenzhen) International Tax Agent Firm Co. Ltd, Mr. Ng is a Fellow Certified Public Accountant (Practising), Chartered Tax Adviser and Registered Six Sigma Champion. He is currently the Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Audit Committee of two listed companies.

 

Mr. Albert Law

FCMA, CGMA Managing Director of Universe Business Consulting Limited, President of the Institute of Accountants in Management, former President of CIMA Hong Kong Division

Mr. Law was Group CFO of two local listed conglomerates, the Wang On Group and South China Group. At listed company board level, he was an Executive Director of South China Holding Limited and South China Assets Holdings Limited. Mr. Law was also an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Audit Committee of Guangzhou Automobile Group Company Limited and former Treasurer of The then Royal HK Jockey Club. Mr Law has years of experience at council and committee member level of professional bodies and service projects. The panelists will discuss the challenges NGO with section 88 faces. Share their views from internal control perspective on what internal control measures and system that a NGO organization requires.

 

Mr. Godwin Ng

Mr. Ng is a Barrister-at-Law in private practice for 20 years with areas of interest in revenue law, personal injury, land law, wills and succesion. He is also a Certified Public Accountant for 40 years. He is a holder of LLB (Lond.), PCLL. (HKU) and MBA (Wales/Manchester)

 

CPD Hours:

Completed CPD hours will be granted to attendees who have attended a full session of seminar.  For those who have not attended full session, the number of CPD hours will be discounted accordingly.  For the exact recognition of the CPD hours, please check with the respective Institute or Association.
